Team formed to develop tourist sites in South Sharqiyah

As part of its efforts to develop tourist sites in various governorates of the sultanate, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism held a virtual meeting on Wednesday.

In a statement, the ministry said, ‘H E Maitha Saif al Mahrouqi, Undersecretary for Tourism in the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, held a virtual meeting with Dr Yahya bin Badr bin Malik al Maawali, Governor of South Sharqiyah governorate.'

The meeting was attended by a number of governors, members of the Shura Council, the Municipal Council, and several government agencies related to the governorate.

The meeting discussed the tourism development plan for the governorate, and briefed the attendees on the tourism development plan for the next phase.

The attendees agreed to form a joint technical team to implement the plan.

South Sharqiyah includes five wilayats: Sur, Al Kamil W’Al Wafi, Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan, Jaalan Bani Bu Ali and Masirah.
