New dual road opens in North Batinah
Muscat – A new dual road was inaugurated in Shinas, North Batinah Governorate on Thursday, according to the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.
In a statement, the ministry said, ‘this morning the dual Aswad road project in Shinas in the North Batinah Governorate, which starts from Batinah Expressway intersection and extends for a distance of 6.5 km, was opened.
The opening of the road comes after the ministry completed the works of the project, which includes the construction of a dual road consisting of two traffic lanes in each direction, with a width of 3.65 metres for each lane, an external shoulder with a width of two metres, an internal shoulder with a width of 1.2 metres, and a median island separating the two directions with a width of 4.5 metres.
The project also includes the construction of two roundabouts and its opening will contribute to facilitating and smoothing traffic and serving the adjoining areas.
