Muscat – Bank Muscat has extended its support to the ninth edition of the Fak Kurbah initiative in line with its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and community service. The initiative is organised by Omani Lawyers Association in coordination with the Ministry of Social Development and the Council of Administrative Affairs of the Judiciary.

This year’s contribution by Bank Muscat will reunite 260 citizens with their families on the joyous occasion of Eid al Fitr. The bank has supported 826 humanitarian cases in the previous four years. None of these cases relate to payments involving banks or financing institutions in the sultanate.

The Fak Kurbah initiative is implemented through voluntary efforts by the Omani Lawyers Association. The initiative has contributed to resolving many cases and succeeded in bringing joy and happiness to many Omani families. The association has been working tirelessly since 2012 for the success of the initiative in partnership with a number of partners.

Dr Muhammad bin Ibrahim al Zadjali, supervisor of Fak Kurbah, said, “Bank Muscat is one of the leading institutions that is continuously supporting the initiative. Continuing the support it provides to the initiative, and to emphasise its strategy in social responsibility, Bank Muscat has contributed to resolve 260 cases this year. The initiative is based on the support of individuals and institutions that have proven their eagerness to participate in this noble cause over the years, thereby confirming the values of solidarity and cooperation to help those in need and relieve their distress.”

Zadjali confirmed that Bank Muscat is keen to support the initiative. “It is continuing its contribution for the fifth year, and this is what prompts us to invite other institutions in this country to follow the bank’s example in providing contributions to achieve the goals of this initiative.”

On his part, Hamza Abbas al Ajmi, deputy general manager – credit, Bank Muscat, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the Omani Lawyers Association and all others involved in the initiative. “The bank is proud to support this unique and noble initiative by the Oman Lawyers Association, which has been one of the most successful social responsibility initiatives in the sultanate and has brought joy to many Omani families in their hour of need. The bank is delighted to support this great humanitarian initiative for the fifth consecutive year. It has helped secure the release of 1,086 citizens who met the eligibility norms in the past five years, and we thank the Oman Lawyers Association for initiating such an important programme that strengthens our community.”

Ajmi added that the bank is proud to be a leading institution in the field of social responsibility in the sultanate and will continue to take part in initiatives, which serve the community and spread happiness amongst those facing hardship.
