Oman Airports training centre gets MoHERI’s accreditation

Muscat – The Oman Airports Training Institute has earned official accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MoHERI) as a vocational training institute.

The accreditation of the institute was issued after fulfilling the conditions of institutional accreditation and its locally approved standards, in addition to obtaining a number of international accreditations.

The institute had recently acquired international accreditation from the American Heart Association, to become an internationally accredited and independent training institute for providing training and delivering basic life support skills courses, according to the regulations of the American Heart Association, according to a press release.

Hamood al Hajri, senior manager of training and development in the company, said, “This recognition will open the doors of the centre to host international programmes for training, as well as develop competencies in various administrative and technical fields.”

He added, “The institute aims to enhance the initiatives of human and professional capacity development programmes for the company’s employees, as well as other employees in
various governmental and private sectors, in order to improve the quality of training and
qualifying outcomes and practices, enhance their local and international accreditations, and create high-level Omani competencies in order to raise the level of efficiency of institutional operations in Oman.”

Abdullah al Yafei, vice president of Support Services Unit, said, “We will work to provide the necessary knowledge in accordance with the latest international standards in different fields by specialists and experts. The institute’s strategy is represented in sustainability, by providing integrated training packages, in order to ensure continuous education and permanent development for all segments of society, in order to meet the needs of the present and keep up with the aspirations of the future.”

The training institute was established in 2012 as a centre affiliated to Oman Airports.
