Oman witnesses increased blood donation

Muscat: More than 70 per cent of eligible Omani donors donated at the Central Blood Bank in Baushar in 2021.

'For the fifth year in a row, the Central Blood Bank in Baushar witnessed an increase in the number of blood units collected in 2021.

The numbers reached 32,754 blood units, an estimated increase of 14 per cent compared to 2020. The percentage of Omani blood donors reached 74.2 per cent, and the rate of voluntary blood donation to 95.9 per cent,' Department of Blood Banks Services (DBBS) said in a statement.
