Al Nahdha Hospital observes World Patient Safety Day

Muscat – Al Nahdha Hospital, represented by the Health Education and Psychological Counselling section, on Wednesday held an event to mark the fourth national and the third World Patient Safety Day under the theme ‘safe maternal and newborn care’ at the hospital’s auditorium.

The event saw several workshops and lectures on safe maternal and newborn care in addition to those highlighting patient rights and responsibilities, stated the hospital.

The event also included an awareness exhibition that presented a number of educational materials on the health of pregnant women and foetus, the national document of patient rights and responsibilities, in addition to displaying some medical cosmetic products for women and children.

‘Patient safety is one of the Ministry of Health’s national priorities. In marking this global event, it seeks to spread the culture of patient safety and raise community awareness by training health workers on the safe secure provision of the service in healthcare facilities at all levels,’ added the statement.

‘The ministry is encouraging international solidarity to achieve universal health coverage and sustainable development goals.’
