Codeshare deal: Oman Air passengers can book 16 new routes with Qatar Airways

June 1, 2021

Oman Air flyers will now be able to book trips to over 80 destinations with Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways and Oman Air have agreed to further expand their existing codeshare partnership, to widen the choice of destinations for passengers.

The updated agreement will see new routes added to the shared network, enabling Oman Air passengers to book trips to a total of more than 80 destinations with Qatar Airways.

“The expansion of the agreement will provide more convenient and seamless travel options for both airlines,” according to a statement released Monday.

Oman Air chief executive officer Abdulaziz Al Raisi said the codeshare agreement will provide travellers with “more flights, more choice of destinations and great flexibility throughout their travels”.

With the new agreement, Oman Air passengers will benefit from seamless connections via Qatar’s international airport to and from at least 16 new routes: Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bodum, Istanbul Sabiha and Izmir in Turkey; Berlin and Munich in Germany; Mykonos, Greece; St. Petersburg, Russia; Zurich, Switzerland; Atlanta and Seattle in the United States; Abuja, Nigeria; Johannesburg, South Africa and Gassim, Saudi Arabia.

This is the second time in less than a year that the two airlines have expanded their partnership.

Last December, the two carriers agreed that the number of destinations available to Oman Air passengers on the Qatar Airways’ network be expanded from three to 65.

“Having first established commercial cooperation with Oman Air over 20 years ago, we look forward to continuing to build upon our strong and historic partnership and offering our customers in Oman and across the globe even more benefits,” said Qatar Airways Group chief executive Akbar Al Baker.
