LG “LIFE’S GOOD RESTAURANT” OPENS TO UAE RESIDENTS

April 4, 2021

Foodies challenged to share their most nostalgic dishes and stories, for the chance to win home appliances and a three-course meal cooked by Emirati chef, Faisal Naser

The UAE is widely known as a food-haven, with street food joints, family-owned eateries and fine dining establishments achieving widespread acclaim in the Gulf region. Residents across the Emirates are also increasingly becoming savvy in the kitchen, seeking to re-create restaurant-quality dishes at home, or simply indulge in food which brings back the fondest of memories.

As part of its mission to make cooking and getting creative in the kitchen more enjoyable, LG Electronics (LG) has partnered with Emirati celebrity chef, Faisal Naser to offer an exclusive opportunity to UAE residents. LG and Faisal are inviting food enthusiasts to visit “The Spot of Delicious” at LG’s “Life’s Good Restaurant” – a dedicated online portal where people can share their favorite dishes, images and the stories behind them. Whether baking banana bread during quarantine, making baked feta pasta with friends, or grilling food under the stars with family at Al Qudra, participants can detail what makes the dish special to them and who it most reminds them of.

Dishes will be uploaded to a digital feed showcasing all entries submitted. Chef Faisal will then carefully select the three best dishes, inviting winners to dine at his Abu Dhabi-based restaurant, LENTO – famous for serving artisanal, homemade burgers, serving from 3:00 PM till sold out. At LENTO, Chef Faisal will recreate the standout dishes for the winners and also provide state-of-the-art home appliances as gifts from LG.

The competition forms a part of the company’s wider “LG’s the Spot” campaign, an initiative designed to show how life can be enhanced through the power of technology and social interaction. Throughout the course of the year, LG will be introducing additional competitions and giveaways, covering fields such as dance and gaming.

To find out more about the first competition, read the terms and conditions and enter the competition, please visit: https://www.lg.com/ae/thespot and click on “Life’s Good Restaurant”.

Should a participant choose, they are also welcome to post on Instagram, TikTok or Facebook, where they must upload an image or video on their main feed, supported by a caption which tells their story. The account must be made public and the post should include @LGGulf in the caption and the hashtag #FoodThatSlaps. Participants can then visit the site and simply follow the instructions on the “Life’s Good Restaurant” page to upload their link – essential for qualifying entry into the competition.

Similarly, participation is also welcomed via publishing a cooking or food-related video on YouTube and Vimeo, using the same hashtag (#FoodThatSlaps) in the caption. If posting on YouTube or Vimeo, entrants must share the link via the “Life’s Good Restaurant” page and provide a brief message about the story behind their chosen dish.

The “Life’s Good Restaurant” competition is running from now till 30th April 2021. Chef Faisal will be uploading regular content to his Instagram page throughout the duration of the campaign, announcing the three chosen winners in early May.
