By harnessing the sun's energy with GlassPoint's Enclosed Trough technology, the solar EOR project produces a daily average of 50 tons of emissions-free steam that feeds directly into existing thermal EOR operations at PDO's Amal West field in Southern Oman.
The 7MW system is in regular operation and recently passed its first performance acceptance test since coming online, exceeding contracted steam output by 10%.

Crude oil output declines 2.13% to 898,772bpd in April

The Sultanate’s crude oil and condensates production declined 2.13 per cent to 26,963,149 barrels, or 898,772 barrels per day, in April compared to the previous month, a report from the Ministry of Oil and Gas showed.
Total exports of crude oil in April 2013 rose 0.14 per cent to 24,968,849 barrels, or 832,295 bpd, during the month, the report showed.
Asian markets have received the bulk share of the Omani crude oil exports, with China topping the list with 48 per cent, followed by Taiwan with 15 per cent.

Oman Oil inks pact with Schlumberger

Oman Oil Company (OOC) and Schlumberger signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the construction and operation of an industrial training centre for the oil and gas industry, said a press release.
